r e s i d e n t i a l | the vicarage prestbury Location: Prestbury, Macclesfield, Cheshire
Client: private Year: 2005 - 2007 The building, Grade ll listed, was designed by Ernest Newton, a prominent architect, in the Arts and Craft style. It was erected in the late 19 th Century. It is one of the highest quality examples of its type in the region. Our proposals included minor extensions to the house. These had to be sensitively designed to respect the quality of the original building. A new orangery was added to provide an extension to the kitchen for dining and entertaining. Its setting gave magnificent views of the extensive lawns and gardens. A new swimming pool was added in the form of a traditional, glazed conservatory attached to the original house and also a new ‘coach house’ style building containing pool facilities and a garage. |
