New village community hall for a registered charity.

The new community hall for the village of Barnton, close to Northwich in Cheshire, was completed and opened in Octover 2005. We were commissioned by the Sir John Brunner Trust in October 2003 to design a new village hall to replace the existing hall that had been sold for development.

The new hall sits on part of the open field facing the village football ground. It comprises a large, multi-purpose hall separated from two meeting rooms by a glazed link. The design is influenced by traditional, rural architecture.

The main hall is used for various functions throughout the year, including sports, educational and public events. It has been a great success and is regularly used by local societies and clubs.

The project was undertaken within tight financial constraints, requiring a series of cost engineering exercises to be undertaken to meet the client's budget. The project was successfully completed on time and within budget.
