Reconstruction and refurbishment of a dilapidated Grade II listed office building. The Grade II listed bulding's previous owner had carried out significant internal demolitions to the walls and floors which had left the structure in a critically unstable condition. To further complicate matters, all previous works had been carried out without Listed Building Consent. We liaised with the conservation officer and the stuctural engineer to develop a proposal that would provide six floors of new open plan office space incorporating a new steel and timber structure that would effectively 'tie' the existing building back together. A continuous void runs the full height of the building accommdating a new steel and timber stair. The works were executed under a Design and Build contract and the completed office was successfully delivered on budget and on time. |
